Hey lovely people,

Nobody ever complains that their favourite pub moved to a nicer building. They complain if the beer changes. The building is furniture, the beer is often the point.

So here's the furniture news: this newsletter is moving from Beehiiv to Substack. Same beer.

I could tell you this was a strategic infrastructure decision. It wasn't.

It came down to three things.

  1. The editor: Writing should feel like talking, on Beehiiv it occasionally felt like filling in a form for the council. I loved the flexibility in sign-up pages and automations, but they all became extra things to manage.

  2. The cost: I was paying for a tool where 90% of the features I never used, which eventually becomes an expense that doesn't make sense.

  3. The real reason: Deep down, is Substack Notes, I don't love where LinkedIn's heading, and this sits closer to what OG Twitter used to feel like. It also means I can have more direct engagement with you, if that's something you want.

Nothing about what you get changes, and you don't have to do anything either. If anything, it should make the newsletter easier to consume.

The only visible difference is it may now arrive via a Substack URL, so keep an eye out for that.

If you're already on Substack Notes, come say hello: follow me here.

Speak soon and see you over there,

Danny

PS this is prob going to be the last chance you can get my book extra cheap as Substack doesn’t allow so help yourself below is that floats your boat 👇
